8'/6' Tapered Tarp - DCF8
We have retired this product to focus on our core products. We hope to bring it out of retirement someday.
The Tarp
Not too big, not too small. This tarp tapers in width from ~8' at the head to ~6' at the foot and is offered in two lengths to better fit your needs. We think this size tarp is the sweet spot for the solo camper.
- Tapered shape uses space efficiently.
- Curved ridge and edges provide a taut pitch.
- Taped seams do not require sealing
- DCF fabric won't sag when the temperature drops.
- DCF fabric has very low stretch for great wind shedding.
- Great for partnering with your bivy.
Tie-outs
- Eight perimeter tie-outs are located at each end of the ridge (2), the corners (4), and the midpoints of each side (2).
- Five hang loops are located along the ridge (one at each end and three along the length).
- Each tie-out comes with a loop of UHMWPE cord tied to it. This places wear and tear on the easily replaced loop rather than on the tie-out. It also allows for the easy installation of tensionlocks (not included) using a girth hitch (see "Rigging tab").
Rigging
People have differing preferences when it comes to rigging. For example, some like to use tensioners while others don't. To reduce waste heading to our landfills (from people ditching the [formerly included] rigging in preference of their own), we now offer an optional rigging kit for those who'd like to install our recommended rigging. Please see the rigging tab for instructions on how to install our recommended rigging. If you'd like to take your own approach, feel free to use your own rigging or pick up some components here.
Compatible with:

- Wind Bivy
- Simple Tub
- Tub-floor
- Bug Canopy
- 1P Bug Shelter
Made in the USA.
